Some fun things with Rick today, February 2, 2006

Today was another day at home for Rick. He worked out in the yard quite a bit raking - didn't accomplish a whole lot, but at least he stayed busy.

We had promised to babysit Mara tonight at her house and Cheryl called asking if we could keep Emma. So we took Emma with us over to Mara's. They played very nicely together most of the time.

The girls were playing upstairs and Rick and I were watching TV together downstairs. He looked kind of sad so I looked at him and said, "I love you." He looked at me for a short time and then said, "I love me too." And just laughed. I bopped him over the head with a pillow several times and he kept laughing. He knew he had gotten me good. It was fun to joke with him again.

Then on the way home from Mara's taking Emma home, he was playing with Emma. He put his hand over his shoulder and made it talk with the motions and his voice. Emma laughed and said, "Papa, do it again." He did.

It was almost like having the old Rick back again.
