Rick's Project

This morning on the way to my BETA Friends meeting, (MS support group that I sponsor), Rick started telling me about a project he was involved in at the Center. He told me, Yesterday, there was a lady there who would like to move the the states." He couldn't remember what country she was coming from. But he wanted to help her with this. He said he felt this was his project and he was rather excited about it. Of course, he couldn't say everything he wanted to say.

Then at the end of the BETA Friends meeting he was talking to Julie Hoggard, a former patient of ours when we worked with Dr. Pearce. She told me he was telling her about his project and said she was glad he was able to work with it.

Then on the way home I asked him to tell me more about this project. This time he said, "There is a lady..." And I asked him if he meant she was at the Center. He said yes. He said, " She wants matrimony." I asked him, "You mean she wants to get married?" He said, "Yes and she wants her children.... I've asked the Lord about this... I just haven't gotten the answer yet.... I don't know what is the proper way to go about it."

I'm not sure what he is talking about. How much is real and how much he is thinking is real. But it is the most he has shared with me in quite a while. It was nice when he just started telling me about it. I wish I knew what he had told Julie.

Today, Erin came over and we baked cookies together. This was fun - working together. She was making them for her new boyfriend for Valentine's Day. When we were finished, she wanted to go to Walmart to find a cookie tin to put them in. Well, Rick said he would rather stay at home. So Erin and I went on to Walmart. Rick seemed to do ok at home for that short period of time. But I was rather nervous about leaving him alone. He was watching the Olympics and was in his chair where we left him.

I sat down to watch some TV with him and Erin and fell asleep. When I woke up he was gone and Erin said he went to bed. This was about 8:30 or 9:00. He just doesn't stay up very late any more at all. Nothing like he used to be. He used to like to stay up late and I was the one to go to bed early. Times have changed.
