Parameters

Tonight I was working and Rick was supposed to be watching his favorite show, Walker, Texas Ranger. Well, he seemed to be restless and was walking into my office frequently. I asked him if Walker was over and he said no. I said, "Don't you want to finish it?" He said, "Yes." But he didn't go back to watch it. I asked him if he needed anything. He said, "Well, no, not really." So he started out to watch Walker and then turned around and said, "Do you know what the parameters are?" I asked, "Parameters for who?" He said, "For you." I said, "For my job?" He said, "Yes." So I told him that I felt like I was doing ok with my job. That I was up to date with my task lists. Then he said, "Well, is going to happen if you are in one place and I am in another?" I asked, "If you are watching TV in the living room and I am in here working?" He said, "Well, no." I asked him, "Are you feeling like you are going to be going away from here to stay?' He said, "yes." I proceeded to tell him that he was not going away. That he lived here with me and we would be here forever. That he would be going to the center during the day as usual and I would be working as usual. Then he would come home and and be with me. He said, "Well, you have just taken a load off my mind." Then he went out and finished watching Walker without any more wandering.
