Sleepless in Kernersville

After the good report yesterday, Rick did not sleep well last night. He was up at 1, 2, 3 and then didn’t go back to sleep after that. He would get in the bed and I would cover him up and he would moan and say, “Oh…oh…oh” and then get up again. I tried to sleep in between times but it wasn’t very satisfactory. Finally at 4 or 5 am I just decided not to pay attention to him, to let him wander around, and I went to sleep.

I didn’t wake up until the alarm went off at 6 am. He was right back in the room when he heard the alarm. So he hadn’t fallen asleep in the living room like I thought he would.

I’m sleepy this morning, needless to say. And so is he. He fell asleep in the rocker while I was getting ready.

Things Rick has said.

Yesterday afternoon I was cutting his fingernails. He grunted like I had hurt him. I asked, “Did I hurt you, Rick?”
“Yes,” he said.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” I said.
“Yes, but it wasn’t so bad.” He said.

Today going up the stairs at church, I was following him.
I said, “I’m behind you. I’m backing you up.”
“I know you are.”

He stayed awake during the sermon except the last 5 minutes.

While praying with him at bed time, he looked at me while I was praying. (Usually he closes his eyes and just about goes to sleep.) As I was praying, he nodded his head at times and when I was through he said,
“I believe you and me…”
“God has big plans for us, doesn’t He?” I said.
“Yes, He does!”

Thank you, Jesus, for praying for me, for loving me, for honoring me and calling me precious.

Lord, my faith falters at times. Please help my unbelief! I know your word is true. These things that Rick says help to boost my faith. I DO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE HEALING HIM and that you have a PLAN FOR OUR LIVES.

Rick was so resistant today, this morning. He wouldn’t eat his breakfast at home or at church. But he stayed awake during the sermon and seemed to catch some of it. He would chuckle occasionally to something Pastor would say. I don’t’ know the correlation.

Thank you, Lord, for giving me your grace! You are faithful. Help me be faithful. Your mercies are new every morning.

Teach me how to hear you speak to me and give me direction!

Thanks you, Lord. I bless your name!
